Closing Ceremony of Thessaloniki Grand Prix |
The closing ceremony of the 4th stage of FIDE Grand Prix Series 2012-2013 took place in the Amphitryon hall of Makedonia Palace Hotel in Thessaloniki (Greece) on 3rd June.
The players and guests were addressed by the Tournament Director Theodoros Tsorbatzoglou, President of the Greek Chess Federation Georgios Makropoulos, representative of Greek government MP Kostantinos Gioulekas and FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov.
Chief Arbiter Takis Nikolopoulos announced the standings and winners. Each player was greeted with a round of applause.

Also attending were Deputy Minister of Sports in Georgia Zurab Azmaiparashvili, FIDE Vice-President Boris Kutin, Consuls of USA and Bulgaria, and other distinguished guests.
FIDE President announced in his speech that the next Grand Prix event will take place in Beijing, China, from 3rd July.
